The Challenge is to use the word prompt of the day to write for five minutes flat - no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking...just "five minutes of free writing without worrying about getting it right."
So here goes…
Five Minute Friday: In Between
Go...Pregnancy and birth...The space in between seems to go on and on. But you have just begun, mommy. So many in betweens to endure as you look to raise this little one to grow into the man or woman that God created him/her to be.
Oh I know...
all too well,
there are those times when you
think....
I can't wait 'till he's out of diapers, or when will she ever learn to walk..or talk.
I can't wait till she's toddling around....
Now that he's walking, he gets into everything....
The mounds of laundry this kid creates! It's incredible!
I can hardly wait for them to be able to do their own laundry.
Can't wait until he can drive...then I won't have to be the chauffeur.
THEN....when that time arrives and your precious bundle of joy has grown...
You look back and wonder...
Did I make the most of all of those times in between? Or was I too busy waiting and hoping for the next stage to happen?
As a grandmother who cherishes every.single. minute I get with my grandson. I urge you mommies. Stop. Look into your child's eyes and tell them how much they are loved in your words and your actions, in your patient waiting, in your desire to just be with them. Teach them 'as you walk and as you talk' to love the Lord. Help them to see the joy and peace that can be found in Him.
He knows more about the in-between...more than you and I could ever imagine. He, who is eternal, created this world, knowing the sinful choices that would be made...marring His beautiful creation. I am so thankful that in the in-between He has redeemed us through His Son, Jesus...who endured the cross...in between heaven and hell, in order that we might spend eternity in heaven with Him.
Learn to live in and cherish the in-between!!
…The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your should and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. ~ Deuteronomy 6:4-9
